  • Prior Owner/Mining Operator: Plymouth Foundation

  • Plymouth Foundation’s land deal with the Town. An organization claiming to be a non-profit IRS 501(c)(3), now known as the “Plymouth Foundation” previously owned the site. The Foundation is formally known as the “Plymouth Regional Economic Development Foundation.”  Read more about this land deal here and the Foundation’s questionable “charitable” status here.

  • The Site is located at 103 Hedges Pond Road and is 23.37-acres.

  • The Town of Plymouth acquired the land in about 1977 probably through a tax taking for a future landfill which never got built. The Selectboard sold the land to the “Foundation” in 2005 for $500,000. The Town gave a mortgage for $475,000 to the Plymouth Industrial Development Corp, a predecessor 501c3 to the Foundation. The mortgage was paid off in  2016, just before the Foundation sold the land to Tonka Truck LLC in 2017 for $1.3 million. The mortgage was paid off as part of closing down the Plymouth Industrial Development Corp.

  • Here is a copy of the deed from the Town to the Foundation in 2005.
